“The Sensuality of the Maturing Woman – Celebrating the fine art of aging well”
Newfoundland artist Tina Dolter takes as her inspiration the creativity, wisdom and sensuality of the maturing woman in this series of paintings. This project is a universal theme that explores the feminine allure and the positive influence maturity and life experience have on the perception of attractiveness, and the idea of the female as the centre of life-affirming human sensual power. The exhibition is comprised of a series of life size portraits of women living in Newfoundland and Ontario, from varied and diverse backgrounds, all over 40, experiencing the most dynamic and creative times of their lives.
"Oasis" is a series focusing on Azraq, a once vast oasis in the arid Jordanian desert. However, in the 1960s, the wetlands suffered an ecological disaster due to excessive pumping of water to support the growing population of Amman. Using collage and acrylic paint on canvas, Doug Adams conveys the oasis and reflects upon the disappearance of that natural environment.

Beverley Rosenberg & Lee Richmond
Lee Richmond invents the spaces she dreams of – houses and rooms, colors and textures. How we choose to live and what we surround ourselves with says a lot about who we are. She has always been interested in peering into houses to get an idea of how people interpret the space they call home. For this body of work, Life as a House, she transfers sketches of her own childhood designs and fabricates rooms out of paper and pattern. Through the construction of these new works, Lee aims to render the gap between dreams and reality. Beverley’s paintings reveal the psychological truth of moments in her everyday life. Her brightly coloured paintings are rendered in a playful, often humorous manner with adult sophistication. Her subject matter can be deep and profound as well as light and whimsical.
