Jeffrey (Chong) Wang

Jeffrey's painting reflects his emotions and memories, interpreting life experiences and the surrounding world. Living primarily in rapidly changing China greatly influences his art. Jeffrey says, "I paint all my past." The figures in his paintings are in a way, himself. They reflect his cultural upbringing, personal feelings and experiences. He thinks of them as characters in a dramatic play, and the canvas is his stage. Jeffrey Chong Wang creatively fuses traditional western oil painting techniques with conceptual abstraction using exaggerated figures and contemporary eastern world themes.
